There are so many ways you can BUILD an education TO SUIT your family.  Join us at this year's conference and vendor fair for information about getting started, transitioning to middle/high school, preparing for graduation, and utilizing local resources.

9:00-9:45am - Lori Grumet - Building Blocks for your Homeschool

Lori Grumet, from the Abilene Public Library, will be speaking on the many resources and new programs available at the library that you can use to enhance your family's homeschool experience--there may be some new ones you haven't yet heard about!

10:00-10:45am - Arthur Ricciardi - How to Ace the "New" SAT

Discover how this learn-able test and every question can be answered in 30 seconds or less. Join Arthur Riccicardi, from College Prep Genius, as he shares info that could help raise student SAT scores by as much as 600 points! Learn how to find shortcuts in test patterns and save time on all sorts of questions. Math, writing, and verbal sections are all covered in this don't-miss session!


11:00am-11:45am - Jamie Thomas - The Hybrid Homeschool

Jamie Thomas, of PEAK Learning Center, will be giving us a glimpse into blended, or hybrid, education designed for 21st century learners. She'll touch on multiple resources, like Kenley, Outschool, PEAK, BCHE Co-op, and Tiny School, and how utilizing these options can help diversify learning experiences and pave the way for success in your child's future.

12:00pm - LUNCH & Homeschool School

Everyone, please plan to stay and join us for lunch, and "Homeschool School." Veteran homeschoolers will present basic how-tos and answer questions in a forum format. Come fellowship and take part in this community event.

Cheeseburgers and Pulled-Pork Sandwiches will be available for purchase, and BCHE Student Council will have snacks and drinks for sale throughout the day.

1:00pm-1:45pm - Mac Leavell - Tips & Tricks for Mastering Math

Have a student for whom math does NOT come naturally? Join Mac at this session and help them learn to think of math differently! Come learn some great mental math tricks that will benefit the whole family.

2:00pm-2:45pm - Arthur Ricciardi - Hypergraphia Genius

Good Notes=Good Grades! In a world of ever-changing technology, students must not lose the art of effective note taking to carry them throughout life. If you're not note taking, you're not learning! How to trust the weakest pen over your strongest memory for high school and beyond. Perfect the art of 'writing to remember' with proven techniques. Easily organize class notes to best retain valuable info for greater academic success.


3:00pm-3:45pm - Tianay Bralley - Cisco College Dual Credit 

Come learn everything you ever wanted to know about dual credit options at Cisco College. Tianay will cover the whole process, from beginning the online application to completing registration. You don't want to miss her explanation of all required paperwork, and a full step-by-step of the NEW GUIDELINES for homeschool transcripts!

4:00pm-4:45pm - Lisa Abercrombie & Tonya Neeley - How Children Learn and the Classical Model of Education

Children of all ages learn in three major ways, which the classical model incorporates. Come hear how the classical model of education works and can give us and our students the tools to learn throughout life, so we are not barred from any endeavor.               Classical Conversations helps you employ this timeless method, grapple with timeless questions, and provide a timely education to equip students for a timely calling.



Our annual Used Book & Curriculum Sale, which takes place during the conference, is operated in a consignment format. Register for a SELLER number, print the tags that are emailed to you, fill them out and place them on your items, then deliver items to be sold. Your items will be sorted into sections and sold while you attend the conference or browse the vendor fair...or sit at home watching TV! After a small percentage is deducted to help cover costs, you receive your check in the mail. Unsold items may be picked up after the sale, or donated.
