Registration

SAFETY CITY

April 12, 2024

Complete details, release forms, and updated times emailed to registrants the Monday of the event, after we have our total number of attendees. Be watching for that email from Big Country Home Educators. No one can attend unless they are pre-registered and bring all signed release forms, for participants AND chaperones.

Do you have a THIRD grade student (age eight or nine, only) who's ready for Safety City? Register them now! This is open to all area homeschooled children of allowable age. No siblings or younger children are allowed to attend with student/parent. Students must be pre-registered with BCHE in order to attend--there are no walk-ups accepted on the day of the event.

READ ALL DETAILS BEFORE COMPLETING REGISTRATION.

Date: April 12, 2024

Time: 8:30am-2:00pm (time is approximate; actual time emailed closer to date,  once we know how close we are to capacity)

Cost: Free

Who: all area students of third grade age (ages eight or nine), who are currently homeschooling (must be homeschooled and cannot have previously attended Safety City)

Family Responsibility:

  • download, print, and bring student release form (emailed Monday before the event with your reminder email)
  • download, print, and bring parent release form (if one parent is attending)
  • brown bag lunch (no refrigeration or heating required) given to BCHE Rep on arrival
  • closed-toe shoes required
  • weather appropriate clothing required
  • sign in and sign out at arrival and pickup
  • be courteous and cancel by emailing staff@bched.com as soon as you know if your plans change and your student will no longer be able to attend

This is just for those students who are of allowable age--no siblings allowed, including nursing infants. This is Safety City policy and all attendees are expected to respect all Safety City rules. One parent/guardian per family may attend with your child, but this is not required. Each child will need to bring a sack lunch including a drink (there will not be time to leave and go get lunch) and wear weather appropriate clothing--event takes place both indoors and outdoors. Students and chaperones must wear closed-toe shoes.

Register your student now so we know if we need to schedule additional times. The Monday the event, release forms--which must be printed, completed, and brought with you--will be emailed out to all registered attendees (both adults and children). There will not be forms provided on the day of the event, you must bring them with you in order to participate. If you don't bring your signed forms, you and/or your child will not be allowed inside Safety City.

A BCHE representative will collect your forms and lunches on arrival.

As always, each parent may only register their own child, or a child for whom they are legal guardian.

Safety City will not schedule a make-up day unless our trip is cancelled due to severe weather.

Safety City tries very hard to accommodate special needs students. Email if you have questions.
